CHEMICAL BONDING

There are three types of atomic bonding:

 

IONIC BONDS: Electrons are TRANSFERRED from the metal to the non metal. The amount of electrons released have to be the same as the electrons taken since compounds are electrically neutral

COVALENT BONDS: Electrons are SHARED in pairs between two non metals so they get the configuration of a noble gas and become stable.

METALLIC BONDS: Electron are delocalized and flow free among the metallic atoms.
